ABSTRACT
A field experiment conducted at instructional farm IGKV, Raipur during rabi season 2015-16 to study the effect of rice establishment method on yield and nutrient uptake in lathyrus under utera cropping system in Vertisol. The lathyrus genotype Ratan was found superior compared to Prateek genotypes in respect of growth characters; yields attributes and yield under rainfed rice-utera system. The lathyrus genotypes Ratan with improved practice gave better result compared to the Prateek with improved practices of lathyrus under utera cropping. Root dynamics higher in Ratan improved practice compare to Prateek, improved practice. Water use efficiency significantly higher in Ratan improved practice campare to Prateek, improved practice.
