ABSTRACT
A laboratory experiment was conducted in alfalfa during kharif, 2015-16 at the Department of Seed Science and Technology, UAS, Bengaluru. The alfalfa variety RL-88 seeds were taken for storage possesses initial seed quality parameters viz., seed moisture (7.40 %), germination percentage (92.00), mean root length (7.00 cm), mean shoot length (7.66 cm), mean seedling length (14.66 cm) and seedling vigour index (1360). The results of the experiment revealed that, the higher seed quality was recorded C3T3: High density polythene bag (> 700 guage) + Diflubenzuron @ 2 ppm (8 mg WP per kg seeds) which was on par with C3T4: High density polythene bag (> 700 guage) + thiram @ 6 g per kg seeds. Whereas, the control recorded lower seed quality parameters at the end of sixteen month of storage.
