ABSTRACT
Present investigation was carried out in three locations representing 3 agro -climatic zones of Telangana state involving 30 cross combinations generated by mating 11 parents in L× T design to estimate gene action, combining ability and heterosis for yield, its attributes and bran oil content. In pooled analysis, magnitude of combining ability releaved the prevalence of non-additive gene action. The parents, Keshari, Kandagiri, IR64 and Swarna were found to be the good combiners for bran oil content whereas Mandhya Vijaya, Phalguna, NDR359 and MTU1010 for yield and its attributes. Keshari MTU1010, Mandhya Vijaya NDR359, Mandhya Vijaya Swarna, Kandagiri RP Bio226, Phalguna NDR359 and Phalguna Swarna were identified as the best combinations on the basis of SCA effects, per se performance and heterotic effects.
