ABSTRACT
An experiment was conducted to study the performance of pole type French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) with split application of different doses of solid and liquid fertilizers under shade net. Among different fertilizer treatments, treatment with 100 per cent NPK soil application and 1 per cent 19:19:19 foliar spray at 15 days interval was significantly improved growth and yield attributing parameters. The highest yield (25.38 t/ha) was also recorded in treatment with 100 per cent NPK soil application and 1 per cent 19:19:19 foliar spray at 15 days interval with maximum benefit cost ratio (3.72). Correlation studies revealed that the green pod yield per plant was having positive and highly significant correlation with internodal length, number of functional leaves per plant, leaf area, leaf area index, average pod length, average pod thickness, average pod weight, number of seeds per pod and number of pods per plant .
