ABSTRACT
A field experiments was conducted to assess growth, yield attributes, yield and returns of Coral - 432 Hybrid of mustard under different cropping systems at DRMR, Bharatpur, Rajasthan during rabi 2010 – 11 and 2011 – 12. The treatments consisted seven cropping systems i.e. Arachis hypogea –Brassica juncea , Gossypium hirusetum – B. juncea, Glycine max – B. juncea, Pennisetum typhoides – B. juncea, Sesamum indicum – B. juncea, Cyamopsis tetragonoloba – B. juncea and Fallow – B. juncea. Cropping systems had significant effects on growth, yield attributes and yield of Coral – 432. During 2010 – 11, highest seed yield was recorded under sesame-mustard cropping system which was significantly higher compared to soybean – mustard, cotton – mustard and clusterbean – mustard cropping systems. During 2011 – 12, Coral – 432 had highest yield under clusterbean – mustard cropping system followed by sesame – mustard cropping systems, and these two system gave significantly higher seed yield compared to all other tested cropping systems. Clusterbean – mustard registered higher yield compared to fallow – mustard in both the years. Cultivation of Coral - 432 recorded highest net return under clusterbean – mustard cropping system (` 49315.5 / ha) followed by sesame – mustard (` 46268.0 / ha), fallow – mustard (` 44912.5 /ha).
