ABSTRACT
This study was carried out in condition of south Gujarat at the Navsari Agricultural University, Gujarat in enterprises in year 2016-17 and 2017-18. In this study, different planting material with plant spacing and nitrogen management was investigated on sugarcane crop. Different planting material including tissue culture seedling, nursery seedling, one budded sprouts and two budded setts with two different plant spacing of 120 cm x 45 cm and 120 cm x 60 cm along with two nitrogen management; 250 kg N/ha (four splits) and 300 kg N/ha (six split) were tested in a split plot design with three times replicated. On the basis of pooled results indicated that significantly higher seed cane yield (99.47 t/ha) were recorded with two budded setts due to significantly higher millable cane length (273.9 cm), cane girth (11.73 cm) and single seed cane weight (1.35 kg/cane). While, plant to plant spacing of 60 cm was recorded significantly higher cane yield (75.98 t/ha) and yield attributes. However, significantly higher seed cane yield (75.03 t/ha) were observed with 300 kg N/ha due to better nourishment of nitrogen with six equal splits in sugarcane seed crop. Two budded setts recorded maximum net return of ` 299564 with higher benefit cost ratio of 3.70, while plant spacing of 120 cm x 60 cm have recorded higher marginal return (` 185612) with higher BC ratio (1.77) and application of 300 kg N/ha (six splits) has recorded higher profit (` 175225) with BCR value (1.57).
