ABSTRACT
Experiments were conducted to study the acute toxicity and lethal reproductive effects caused by the entomopathogenic fungi viz., Beauveria bassiana, Verticillium lecanii and Metarhizium anisopliae against the pink mealybug infesting grapes. V. lecanii recorded significantly lower LC50 value of 3.41 x 105 spores/ml in a minimum time period of 1.09 days (LT50). The LC50 value of B. bassiana and M. anisopliae was 1.50 x 106 and 7.14 x 106 spores/ml with a LT50 of value of 3.04 and 7.04 days respectively. The per cent mortality caused by V. lecanii (72.80) was statistically on par with B. bassiana (66.40). M. anisopliae recorded per cent mortality of 38.40. The mean fecundity of adult female mealybug treated with V. lecanii was lower (54.20 eggs/female) with a significant reduction in hatchability of the eggs (25.20). Adult females treated with B. bassiana recorded a mean fecundity of 108.80 eggs/female followed by M. anisopliae (194.40 eggs/female).
