ABSTRACT
A field experiment on management of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) on chickpea was conducted at Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Bikaner, Rajasthan during rabi season. The experiment on evaluation of the bio-efficacy of nine newer insecticides/bio-pesticides revealed that indoxacarb (0.007%) proved as the most effective treatment followed by emamectin benzoate (0.0025%) which is at par with spinosad (0.0068%) in reducing larval population as well as per cent pod damage and resulted higher yield than rest of the treatments. The treatment of endosulfan (0.07%) was found moderately effective in reducing pod borer population while NPV (450 LE ha-1), B.t. (1 gm/lit.), azadirachtin (0.5%), NSKE (5.0%) and lufenuron (0.0025%) were found least effective in terms of reducing the pest population as well as per cent pod damage. The maximum yield was obtained in the treatment of indoxacarb (15.84 q ha-1), while minimum yield with Bt (10.97 q ha-1) treatment. The yield in the untreated control was 10.15 q ha-1.
