ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during 2006-07 at College Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, AAU; Anand, Gujarat to evaluate the bio-efficacy of some neem based formulations on aphid, Macrosiphoniella sanborni (Gillette) in Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum coronarium L. Total three sprays of respective formulations were made staring on the appearance of the pest and subsequently at 10 days interval. Of the nine neem based formulations, Neemazal-F 5% EC sprayed based on azadirachtin 0.0006% and Econim 1% EC sprayed based on azadirachtin 0.0006% found better than rest of the formulations in suppressing the aphid population. These treatments also reflected on the yield of flowers. Neemazal-F recorded the highest insecticidal cost benefit ratio (ICBR) followed Econim. Ranker 0.03% EC and Vanguard 0.15% EC spray based on azadirachtin 0.0006% recorded the highest population of natural enemies (Chrysoperla carnea and Coccinellids) feeding on M. sanborni and proved to be safer neem based formulations.
Key words :
