ABSTRACT
The present investigation was conducted at Crop Research Station, Masodha, Faizabad (U.P.) during kharif season of in Randomised Block Design replicated three times for investigation of 10 varieties/strains viz. The results revealed that length of rice kernel ranged from 5.11-7.53 mm, the breadth of rice kernel was found between 1.74-1.94mm and the L/B ratio of rice kernel was found in range 2.79-4.13. Among various strains/varieties biochemical parameter like protein content varied from 7.20- 8.12 per cent, amylose content range from 21.62 -23.97 per cent, methionine content was found in range of 1.73- 2.74 g/16gN. Lysine content was found in range of 1.30 – 1.55 g/16gN and tryptophan content was found in range of 0.17 – 0.22 g/16gN.
