ABSTRACT
The grape gardens affected by Berry Stem Necrosis (BSN) in Maharashtra were surveyed and selected 19 grape gardens for the purpose of these studies. Collected the BSN affected as well as healthy cluster samples from these grape gardens separately and analyzed the rachis and pedicel, tissue samples for nutritional concentrations. A highly significant association was observed between the concentration of total N and NH4-N in both rachis and pedicel and BSN incidences.
As regards the metallic cations, a high concentration of K and low concentration of Ca and Mg in the BSN affected clusters was noticed. Significant co relation was established between K concentration in the tissues of rachis and pedicel and the incidence of BSN. A highly significant association was also established between K/Mg ratio and BSN.
