ABSTRACT
Fifty-three genotypes of groundnut including twelve lines, three testers, thirty-six hybrids, and two checks were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications during summer (E1) and kharif (E2) 2004 to study the nature and magnitude of association of pod yield with morpho-physiological characters in parents and crosses in groundnut. Genotypic correlation was higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlation for all the characters. Pod yield showed significant positive association with total number of pods per plant, mature pods per plant, kernel yield per plant and harvest index in both the environments at genotypic and phenotypic level. Path coefficient analysis for pod yield per plant indicated that maximum direct effect was observed for total number of pods per plant and mature pods per plant in both parents and hybrids in both the environments.
