ABSTRACT
The study was conducted to examine the relationships between seed vigour traits and yield components in 48 rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes. Character association and path analysis for 13 traits were studied under dry direct sowing conditions in rice. The results revealed that plant height and number of ear bearing tillers has positive and significant correlation with grain yield whereas dry matter at 14 days after sowing and germination percentage had negative and significant association with grain yield. Path analysis revealed that plant height, number of ear bearing tillers, test weight, shoot length at 7 days after sowing & root length at 14 days after sowing has positive direct effect on grain yield and also positive correlation with grain yield.
