ABSTRACT
Twenty two cluster bean genotypes were evaluated in a Randomized complete block design with two replications at Agriculture Research Station, AAU, Derol during kharif season 2017 to identify diverse parents. Cluster genotypes into five groups. Cluster means for traits showed considerable differences between groups. Cluster I was the largest comprising 17 genotypes followed by cluster II consisting 2 genotypes. The maximum intra-cluster distance was found in cluster I (99.61) followed by cluster II (27.74). The maximum inter-cluster distance was recorded (531.26) between the II and V cluster indicating large genetic difference among genotypes (DRLGG 13-8, DRLGG 13-26, and DRLGG 13-38) of these two clusters. The character wise analysis of variance was found significant for all the characters under study except yield per plot and seeds per pod. The higher value of R2 was found for primary branches (0.92) followed by days to maturity (0.91), 50% flowering (0.90) and plant height (0.88) indicted that these characters were more contributed to clustering pattern of cluster bean genotypes. The characters like 50% flowering (33.77%) was most contributing character to genetic divergence followed by pod per cluster (14.72%), primary branches (13.85%).
