ABSTRACT
The local practices, like manual hand beating, adoption of power operated thresher for threshing finger millet earheads was found to be favorable to achieve higher output capacity (230.00 kg/h) with the safer limits of broken grains (2.90 per cent) and higher threshing efficiency (99.18 per cent). On the other hand passing bare tractor and stone roller with bullock for threshing finger millet earheads was found to be better in terms of damage to grain and viability of the grain. On an average the research study suggests that use of power operated thresher is favourable to thresh the finger millet earheads as compare to other methods under Indian conditions.
