ABSTRACT
An experiment was conducted during kharif, 2011 at Directorate of Rice Research farm, Rajendranagar to study the influence of different methods of cultivation on various rice varieties on yield and yield attributes. The results revealed that all rice varieties under SRI significantly improved in yield and yield attributes compared to NTP. Among all the varieties, hybrids DRRH-3 and PA- 6129 recorded significantly higher grain yield under System of rice intensification (SRI) (8.01 t/ha)compared to Normal transplanting method (NTP) (7.19 t/ha) respectively. Yield attributes like productive tillers per mt-2, panicle length, number of spikelets per panicle, number of filled grains per panicle, grain weight per panicle significantly improved in SRI than NTP. Significant difference was seen among varieties under both methods of cultivation. Results revealed that hybrids and long duration varieties performed well compared to other group of varieties.
