ABSTRACT
A study was carried out at Jhalas village of Poonch district on problems faced and reasons for non-adoption of sericulture among farmers. A total of 30 farmers were selected randomly through well prepared structure schedule by personal interview method. The data indicated that major problem faced in sericulture is climatic disturbances and shortage of skilled labour 90 and 80 percent respectively. In addition, it was also noticed that most of the farmers expressed various reason for non-adoption of sericulture the major one was lack of knowledge about sericulture and non-availability of mulberry plants 100 and 83 percent respectively.
