ABSTRACT
The present study was undertaken to know the marketing channels and price spread in sanga potato marketing in Latur district of Maharashtra. For the study, Chakur and Latur tehsils of Latur district was surveyed in the year 2008-09. The result revealed that the cut of electricity frequently in available hours was severe problem which was expressed by 95.83 and 89.58 per cent in Pukraj and Sanga potato growers. High cost of seed potato was next major problem which was expressed by 93.75 and 85.41 per cent of Pukraj and Sanga potato growers. Price fluctuation which was expressed by 91.66 per cent of Pukraj potato growers followed by 79.16 per cent of Sanga potato growers respectively. To overcome the problems they suggested that 89.58 and 83.33 per cent of Pukraj and Sanga potato growers suggested that regular availability of electricity in available hours. Similarly, cheap availability of seed potato was suggested by 87.50 and
76.16 per cent of Pukraj and Sanga potato growers. In next order, price support facility was suggested by 81.25 and 68.75
per cent of Pukraj and Sanga potato growers.
