ABSTRACT
The present study was aimed to investigate correlation and path analysis between grain yield and other agronomic parameters using forty stabilized inbred lines and three hybrid checks of maize (Zea mays L.). Grain yield per plant had significant positive association with ear girth followed by ear length, number of kernels per row, 100 grain weight, plant height and ear height. While path analysis revealed that number of kernels per row, number of kernel rows per ear and ear length were the main yield contributing characters and should be given more emphasis.
