ABSTRACT
Present investigation was carried out using thirty three germplasm accessions along with three checks in Randomized Block Design with two replications. Data were recorded for eight quantitative characters including seed yield per plant and subjected to statistical analysis for estimation of inter relationship among yield components and its causes. Results showed that seed yield per plant had significant positive association with shoot length, plant height, siliqua length and number of seeds per siliqua at both genotypic and phenotypic level. It is evident from the results that the genotypic correlation co-efficient were higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlation co-efficient, indicated a strong inherent association between the characters studied. Path co-efficient analysis revealed that plant height, shoot length, siliqua length and number of seeds per siliquae had direct positive effects, indicating main cause of positive correlation of these traits with seed yield per plant. These results suggested that during selection more emphasis should be given on plant height, shoot length, number of seeds per siliqua and number of siliqua per plant to develop desirable plant types having high seed yield.
