ABSTRACT
A field trial was conducted at the experimental farm of the Department of Vegetable Science, Dr Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (HP) during kharif 2009 to know the correlation of different weed management practices on growth characters and yield in bell pepper. Studies revealed highly significant association between fruit yield and number of fruits per plant, fruit size, number of pickings, plant height, number of laterals, number of weeds/m2 and fresh and dry weight of weeds. Maximum positive correlation of yield was found with number of fruits per plant (0.893) followed by fruit size (0.737), number of pickings (0.721), plant height (0.709) and number of laterals (0.709), respectively. Whereas, fresh weight of weeds, dry weight of weeds and number of weeds/m2 showed maximum negative correlations with yield having value of -0.725, -0.701 and -0.677, respectively.
Key words :
