ABSTRACT
The association analysis in bhendi has revealed a strong positive association of relative water content, fruit number, leaf area index and days to flowering with yield. The association of yield with intermodal length, stem diameter as well as plant height were negative and significant. The highest positive intercorrelation was observed between fruit girth and fruit weight (0.550). The traits viz., number of fruits plant–1, plant height and fruit weight could be identified as the important yield determinants of bhendi through association analysis and these traits could be relied upon for selection of high yielding bhendi genotypes under coastal situation of Karaikal.
