ABSTRACT
The present study was conducted during kharif 2009 in the Churu and Bikaner districts of Rajasthan. A total sample of 316 clusterbean growers was selected for study purpose. Results indicated that majority of the respondents utilized Relatives, Neighbours and Friends as a source of information Village level workers and AAOs were much uilized personal cosmopolite sources on the other hand SMS, scientists and personnels of voluntary organizations were less utilized. Among personal cosmopolite sources of information, demonstrations and trainings were the main channels. In case of impersonal cosmopolite sources radio, exhibition and television were the most important channels utilized by the clusterbean growers. Input dealers, krishi upaj mandi and cooperatives were the main commercial agencies are sources of information. The study highlighted that maximum communication gap was found in plant protection measures, seed inoculation and weed management technology of clusterbean. The study further highlighted that non-availability of information in time, non-adaptability of information and lack of means of communication at village level were the main obstacles responsible for low adaptability of information about clusterbean production technology.
