ABSTRACT
Pot culture experiment was conducted by using bulk soil samples collected from sub-humid southern Zone (IV-b) of Rajasthan. The soils were categorized as low, medium and high with respect to native soil fertility status of iron. The critical limit of iron (Fe) for soil and wheat plant was determined. Three treatments with three replicated pots in each types of soil were imposed with common recommended levels of FYM, N, P, K, and varied levels of Fe for Fe treatment in respective sets of pots under each of the low, medium and high fertility soils. The critical levels of Fe in soils and plants were recorded as 4.67 mg kg-1 and 43.52 mg kg-1, respectively. Application of 10 mg kg-1 iron recorded maximum mean dry matter yield of wheat i.e. 19.51 g pot-1.
