ABSTRACT
Water plays major role in absorption of mineral nutrients. The nutritive value of mulberry leaf, being the only delicious food of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) performs a major role on the growth of silkworm and cocoon crop. Mulberry nutritional value depends on the availability of water and nutrition in soils. Growing crops under water stress conditions is a great challenge to the farmers. In recent times, most of the places in the world have been facing the drought. The severity of drought is mainly due to increased water scarcity, high temperatures, irregular and less rainfall etc. Studies on the drought effect help in planning and execution of various projects properly to mitigate the effects and also face drought without much damage to the crop plants. Hence, the present study is aimed to know the drought induced abiotic stress on phytochemical composition of high yielding mulberry variety V1.
