ABSTRACT
Agro-Processing Centre (APC) is an establishment, where required facilities for processing, storage, drying of cereals, pulses, oilseeds, spices, fruits and vegetables are available. Processed and packed food products are prepared and marketed with specific brand name (Kumar and Ilyas, 2003).The production of cereals, pulses and oilseeds is significantly high in Murtizapur, Dist. Akola. Income of producers could be increased considerably through value addition to farm produce at rural level. The handicapped and widow woman entrepreneur took the technical guidance through CSS training conducted under All India Coordinated Research Project on Post Harvest Technology, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola and established an Agro Processing Centre consisting of PKV Mini dal mill, flour mill, shewai making machine and pulverizer. The Agro Processing Centre started in village Kanjra near Murtizapur is running successfully and is processing cereals, pulses, oilseeds and spices. This agro processing unit is not only running in profit but also helped in catalyzing several other farmers to start up such unit.
