ABSTRACT
Five biocontrol agents viz., Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma harzianum, Pseudomonas fluorescence, Pseudomonas putida and Bacillus subtilis were evaluated for their efficacy against the growth of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. punicae by inhibition zone assay method. The antagonism activity of six bacterial isolates B. subtilis, P. fluorescens, P. putida, T. harzianum, Trichoderma viride and (Pseudomonas fluorescens + Bacillus subtilis 1:1) were investigated against strains of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. punicae (causal agent of bacterial blight) s. Antimicrobial activity tests was performed in vitro using agar diffusion methods.
Key words :
Bacillus subtilis, bacterial blight, biological control, pomgranate, Punica granatum, Xanthomonas axonopodis.
