ABSTRACT
The present investigation on the effect of biofertilizers with reduced levels of nitrogen and phosphorous on growth, flowering and bulb production in Asiatic Lilium cv Royal Trinity was carried out at the experimental field of Division of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar campus , Srinagar. The results revealed that lilium responded well to the biofertilizers and significant improvement was observed in growth, flowering, and bulb yield of lilium as compared to control. Treatment combination of Azotobacter (1 litre/10 kg bulbs) + Azospirillum (1 litre/10 kg bulbs) + 80% N + 100% PK of recommended dose recorded maximum plant height (68.05 cm), more leaves plant-1 (70.50),highest number of flowers plant-1 (5.69), maximum number of bulbs plant-1 (3.01) with more number of daughter bulbs (1.76) whereas minimum days to colour break (56.00 days) and earlier anthesis (57.10 days) heaviest bulb (88.83 g), maximum diameter of bulb (7.85 cm) and maximum diameter of daughter bulbs (0.88 cm) were also observed in plants treated with Azotobacter (1 liter/10 kg bulbs) + 70% N + 100% PK of recommended dose,
