ABSTRACT
An investigation was carried out to study the effect of biopesticides, organic amendments and chemicals on the incidence of leaf spot disease (Cercospora rauvolfia) of sarpagandha during 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. The results revealed that soil application of talc based Pseudomonas fluorescens 1kg combined with 20 kg of FYM showed that minimum leaf spot incidence (9.23, 10.00, and 8.17 per cent) during season I and (7.24, 10.56 and 7.78 per cent) during season II at 30, 60 and 90 DAP respectively. The highest plant height was recorded (60.35, 90,82 and 140.52cm) at 6th, 12th and 18th month after planting in sarpagandha in field. The maximum leaf area (27.59, 37.81 and 38.22 cm2 ) at 6th, 12th and 18th month after planting respectively was obtained in above treatment. The highest disease incidence and lowest growth parameters recorded in combination of pungam cake + mahua cake 10 g /plant on 40 DAP.
