ABSTRACT
An investigation on effect of bioregulators on growth and yield aspects of soybean (Glycine max L.) under climatic condition of Vidharbha region part of Maharashtra was carried out during kharif season 2017-18 at Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Dr. P.D.K.V. Akola. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) replicated three times with different five bioregulator in Factor A and three stages of application in Factor B. Soybean cv.JS-335 was grown up adopting recommended package of practices. The bioregulators treatment consist A1 - Water spray, A2 - Salicylic acid @ 50 ppm, A3 - Ethrel @ 200 ppm, A4 - Chlormequat chloride (Lihocin) @ 1000 ppm and A5- Nitrobenzene (20%) @ 500 ppm in Factor 'A' and three stages of application in Factor 'B' viz., at flower initiation, at pod initiation and at both flower and pod initiation. The result revealed that growth parameters were improved with the application of bioregulator Salicylic acid @ 50 ppm but growth parameters not significantly differ for different stages of bioregulator spraying. The yield attributes number of pods per plant, seed weight per plant and seed yield per hectare was found significantly highest with the application of Nitrobenzene (20%) @ 500 ppm and higher values of yield attributes were recorded with the application of bioregulator at both flowering and pod initiation stage. However, among all treatments Salicylic acid @ 50 ppm was registered maximum GMR, NMR and B: C ratio which was statistically similar to the Nitrobenzene (20%) @ 500 ppm.
