ABSTRACT
An experiment was conducted during the rabi season of the years 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 at Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research Farm, A. A. U., Anand, Gujarat to evaluate seed yield of vernonia under different dates of sowing (D1-1st week of October, D2-3rd week of October, D3-1st week of November and D4-3rd week of November) and spacing (S1-Broadcasting, S2 -30 cm between two row and S3-45 cm between two row). The higher seed yield (1067 kg ha-1) was obtained under date of sowing treatment D1 (1st October) with spacing S3(45 cm between row) and also get higher net realization worth ` 38,410 ha-1 with BCR (2.06) as compared to other dates of sowing. Sowing at 45 cm (row to row spacing) and thinning at 5 cm (plant to plant) 20 days after sowing gave higher net returns (20,700 ` ha-1) and BCR (1.52) with production of 862 kg ha-1 seed yield.
