ABSTRACT
A laboratory study was conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam in a factorial design with five varieties, four growth regulators at three concentrations and three replications to know the effect of growth regulators on percent germination and seedling characteristics. The results revealed that the variety L 761 recorded significantly highest mean germination (%) followed by Veena. Among the growth regulators tested, IBA recorded highest mean percent germination followed by IAA. The highest mean vigour index was recorded in the variety Veena followed NA 1325. Among the different growth regulators tested, higher vigour index was recorded with GA3 followed by NAA. Among the different Conc, GA3 @0.5 ppm, IAA @10 ppm, NAA @ 10 ppm, IBA @ 15 ppm are good for better germination and vigour index in cotton.
