ABSTRACT
A field experiments were conducted on boron deficient soils of Bhadra command area, during rainy season of 2017 at Agricultural and Horticultural Research Station, Bhavikere and Kathalagere, Karnataka to evaluate the effect of borax levels on growth, yield and uptake of rice and the experiment was laid out in a Randomized complete block design with seven treatments and replicated thrice. At both the locations application of recommended FYM+NPK+8 kg Borax per ha recorded significantly higher growth parameters like plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, dry matter accumulation and yield parameters like number of panicles per hill, maximum panicle length, test weight, number of filled grains per panicle, minimum number unfilled grains per panicle, total number of grains per panicle, lowest per cent chaffiness, grain yield and straw yield. Lowest growth, yield attributes and yield was recorded in treatment that received recommended FYM+NPK+20 kg Borax per ha. Increasing in application of borax increases the uptake and hot water extractable boron in plant and soil respectively.
