ABSTRACT
A field experiment was carried out on sandy loam soil at Agronomy farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, AAU, Anand, Gujarat during the semi rabi season for two years (2011-12) and (2012-13) to study the effect of phosphorus and sulphur interaction on yield and chemical composition of semi- rabi pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.) Result of experiment revealed that application of phosphorus @ 50 kg P205 ha-1 increased yield attributes and grain (1349 kg ha-1) and straw (3020 kg ha-1) yield of pigeonpea over control. Likewise, S application @ 40 kg kg ha-1 also resulted in the higher grain (1284 kg ha-1) and straw (2875 kg ha-1) yield over control. Application of 50 kg P2O5 ha-1 recorded significantly the higher nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulphur uptake by grain (44.66, 5.29, 12.64 and 3.51 kg ha-1) respectively on pooled basis. While application of S @ 40 kg ha-1 significantly increased nitrogen phosphorus, potassium and sulphur uptake by grain (42.29, 4.91, 12.02 and 3.33 kg ha-1) respectively on pooled basis.
