ABSTRACT
A field experiment was carried out on sandy loam soil at Agronomy farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, AAU, Anand, Gujarat during the semi rabi season for two years (2011-12) and (2012-13) to study the effect of different levels phosphorus and sulphur on growth, yield, content and nutrient uptake of semi- rabi pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.) Result of experiment revealed that application of phosphorus @ 50 kg P205 ha-1 recorded significantly the higher nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulphur content in grain (3.30, 0.392, and 0.259 per cent) respectively on pooled basis. While application of S @ 40 kg ha-1 significantly increased nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulphur content in grain (3.28, 0.386 and 0.256 per cent) respectively on pooled basis. Application of 50 kg P2O5 ha-1 recorded significantly the higher nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulphur uptake by grain (44.66, 5.29, 12.64 and 3.51 kg ha-1) respectively on pooled basis. While application of S @ 40 kg ha-1 significantly increased nitrogen phosphorus, potassium and sulphur uptake by grain (42.29, 4.91, 12.02 and 3.33 kg ha-1) respectively on pooled basis. Application of phosphorus @ 50 kg P2O5 ha-1 and of S @ 40 kg ha-1 found same result in content and uptake by straw.
