ABSTRACT
An effort was made at Organic farm, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari in rabi 2011-12 to effect of different organic sources on growth, yield, quality and NPK and S content and uptake of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) under certified organic farm. The results revealed that plant height at 30 and 60 DAS, number of primary branches per plant and number of capsules per plant were affected significantly and recorded higher in the treatment of 100% N application through BC+VC+CC. similarly, this treatment also recorded significantly higher seed and stover yield as compared to other treatments. The quality parameters such as oil content and oil yield were not affected significantly due to different treatments of organic sources. Higher BCR of 2.83 was recorded in treatment, application of T7 (100% N through BC+VC+CC). The content of major (NPK) and secondary (S) were not affected significantly due to different treatments. However, its uptake by seed, stover and their total were affected significantly due to different treatments and higher uptake of these nutrients by components of sesame was recorded in treatment T7 (100% N through BC+VC+CC).
