ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted at Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Tiruchirappalli to study the effect of fish amino acid and egg amino acid as foliar application to increase the growth and yield of rice during 2016-2017. The experiment was laid out in Randomized block design (RBD) with three replications and eleven treatments viz., recommended dose of fertilizers (187.5:50:50 kg NPK ha-1) (T1), foliar spray of egg amino acid 0.5 % (T2), egg amino acid 1.0 % (T3), egg amino acid 1.5 % (T4), fish amino acid 0.5 % (T5), fish amino acid 1.0 % (T6), fish amino acid 1.5 % (T7), recommended dose of fertilizers + egg amino acid 0.5 % (T8), recommended dose of fertilizers + egg amino acid 1.0 % (T9), recommended dose of fertilizers + fish amino acid 0.5 % (T10) and recommended dose of fertilizers + fish amino acid 1.0 % (T11). The results revealed that recommended dose of fertilizers along with foliar application significantly influenced the growth and yield of rice. Recommended dose of fertilizers + egg amino acid 1.0 % applied during basal, tillering, panicle initiation and flowering stages (T9) was recorded higher growth and yield parameters.
