ABSTRACT
Foliar nutrition increases photosynthetic rate and nutrient translocation from the leaves to the developing seeds. A field experiment conducted to explore possibility of foliar nutrition in mungbean during two consecutive kharif seasons of 2016 and 2017 at research farm of Agricultural Research Station, Mandor, Jodhpur to evaluate the effect of foliar nutrition on growth, yield attributes, seed yield and economics of mungbean. The results indicated that application of urea 2 % + salicyclic acid 75 ppm at flowering initiation increased the number of branches/plant (4.1), plant height (42.2 cm), pods/plant (29.9) and seed yield (989 kg/ha) of mungbean significantly over control, nitrobenzene 500 ppm, Boron 0.25%, Salicylic acid 75 ppm and urea 2% which was found on par to TNAU pulse wonder @ 5 kg/ha and NPK (18:18:18) 2%. The highest net returns and B:C ratio (Rs 33620 and 2.69) were also observed due to application of Urea 2% + Salicylic acid 75 ppm at flower initiation. Similarly, all the foliar nutrition treatments gave significantly higher net returns and B: C ratio over control (Rs. 20300 and 2.02).
