ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of foliar phosphorus through different sources and potassium nutrition on yield and fruit quality of banana cv. Martaman at Horticultural Research Station, Mondouri, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, West Bengal during 2013- 2014. Ten treatment combinations having four different sources of phosphorus and one source of potassium along with their combination as foliar and control (water spray) were imposed at 7th and 9th months after planting in a Randomised Block Design with three replications. Application of 1% NaH2PO4.2 H2O + 2% K2SO4 (T7) resulted in least days to harvest, highest bunch weight, bunch length, hands/ bunch, fingers/ bunch, fingers/ hand, finger weight, finger volume, pulp weight, least acidity, and maximum yield (33.5 t/ha) which was 32.25% more than that of control. While T1 (1% H3PO4) recorded the highest TSS and total sugar in the fruits.
