ABSTRACT
The field experiment was laid out with Randomized complete block design to study the effect of foliar sprays of micronutrients (T2: ZnSO4, T3: B and T4: T2 + T3) and growth regulators (T5: GA3, T6: NAA, T7: T5 + T6 and T8: TIBA + NAA) with three replications on growth and seed yield of onion variety Arka Kalyan during rabi 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons at Seed production plot, Seed Unit, UAS, Raichur. Foliar spray was given at 45 and 75 days after bulb planting (DAP). From the present investigation, it was noticed that the significant increase in the growth and yield parameters were recorded with foliar spray of ZnSO4 @ 0.5 per cent viz., number of leaves per plant (51.35, 51.13 and 51.24) & plant height (78.63, 81.80 and 79.58 cm) at 90 DAP, number of umbels per plant (7.17, 7.47 and 7.32), number of seeds per umbel (675.9, 703.3 and 689.6), seed yield per plant (6.32, 9.21 and 7.77 g), seed yield per ha (463, 560 and 512 kg/ha) and thousand seed weight (4.27, 4.20 and 4.23 g) followed by GA3 @ 100 ppm over control viz., number of leaves per plant (45.17, 47.33 and 46.25) & plant height (73.83, 75.00 and 74.42 cm) at 90 DAP, number of umbels per plant (6.50, 6.67 and 6.58), number of seeds per umbel (426.1, 515.8 and 471.0), seed yield per plant (5.14, 6.34 and 5.74 g), seed yield per ha (400, 515 and 457 kg/ha) and thousand seed weight (3.23, 3.30 and 3.27 g) during 2016-17, 2017-18 and pooled data, respectively.
