ABSTRACT
Trial on effect of foliar spray of plant growth regulators on growth and yield of sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) was laid out in Randomized block design, with ten treatments and three replications under rainfed condition. The perusal of the data revealed that highest value of plant height obtained with foliar application of GA3 200 ppm. Foliar spray of CCC 500 ppm recorded highest number of branch per plant. Foliar spray of GA3 200 ppm significantly reduced the days taken to 50 per cent flowering. Data again showed that highest value of leaf area per plant and leaf area index recorded with foliar application of GA3 200 ppm followed by NAA 50 ppm, NAA 100 ppm and CCC 500 ppm. Among the different treatments of plant growth regulators higher value of chlorophyll content index (SPAD unit), were obtained with CCC 500 ppm followed by CCC 1000 ppm. The maximum value of seed yield recorded with foliar application of GA3 200 ppm.
