ABSTRACT
A laboratory experiment was conducted to study the effect of fungicidal seed treatment and containers on seed quality attributes during storage of hybrid rice and its parental lines. Among the genotypes KMR-3 recorded significantly higher germination at the end of storage period (83.33%) and lower electrical conductivity (274.3dSm-1), KRH-2 recorded higher seedling vigour index (1390),seedling dry weight(118.83).The seed quality parameters differed significantly due to the effect of seed treatment with fungicides at end of storage period, seeds treated with vitavax powder (carboxin + thiram) @ 3 g kg-1 of seeds were recorded significantly higher germination (83.36 %),seedling vigour index (1282),seedling dry weight(114.9) and lower electrical conductivity (287.2 dSm-1). While seeds stored in polythene bag recorded higher germination (83.46%), seedling vigour index (1258),seedling dry weight(115.3) and lower electrical conductivity (288.65 dSm-1) compared to control.
