ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of FYM, biofertilizers (Azotobacter and VAM) and zinc on physico-chemical properties of soil at harvest of wheat under maize-wheat cropping system during two consecutive years of 2006-07 and 2007-08 at Instructional Farm, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur. Application of FYM significantly decreased bulk density and pH, while significantly increased porosity, hydraulic conductivity, water stable aggregates, EC, CEC, available N, P & K, available Zn, Cu, Fe & Mn, organic carbon, total nitrogen and total phosphorus content of soil at harvest of wheat under maize-wheat cropping system. Inoculation of biofertilizers (Azotobater and VAM) significantly improve available phosphorus at harvest of wheat crop. Application of zinc significantly increase the available zinc content and decrease the available phosphorus content in soil at harvest of wheat crop under maize-wheat cropping system.
