ABSTRACT
A field study was conducted during the winter season (rabi) of 2008-09 and 2009-10 on transitional Luni Basin Plain Zone of Rajasthan, to evaluate the effect of irrigation method and weed management on growth, yield, water use efficiency and economics of wheat. Result of the study recorded that sprinkler and mini sprinkler methods of irrigation had significant impact on growth, yield attributes, yield, water use efficiency, water requirement and economics of wheat as compared check basin method of irrigation. Highest seed yield (37.78 qt/ha), net return (45786 `/ha) and B: C ratio (2.34) recorded by mini sprinkler methods of irrigation. The mechanical weed control measures significantly increase the growth, yield attributes, yield, water use efficiency, water requirement and economics of wheat as compared to unweeded control and chemical weed control method in wheat. Maximum seed yield (40.90 qt/ha), net return (48397 `/ha) and B: C ratio (2.22) recorded by hand weeding at 30 DAS in wheat crop.
Key words :
Biomass yield, Economics, Irrigation method, Net return, Water use efficiency, Weeds control, Wheat.
