ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during the year 2012-13 under All India Coordinated Research Project on Long-term Fertilizer Experiment at the Deptt. of Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry, College of Agriculture JNKVV, Jabalpur to study the effect of long-term application of fertilizers and manure on dry matter yield and nutrients content at different growth stages of soybean in a Vertisol under soybean-wheat cropping system. The field experiment being carried out with nine treatments viz., 50%, 100%, 150% NPK, 100% NPK+Zn, 100% NP, 100% N, 100% NPK+FYM, 100% NPK-S and Control, each treatments replicated four times in a randomized block design. The recommended dose (100%) of NPK for soybean and wheat is 20:80:20 and 120:80:40 kg/ha N, P2O5 and K2O, respectively. These nutrient were applied through urea, super phosphate (DAP for sulphur free treatment) and muriate of potash were applied to provide N, P and K respectively. Organic manure as FYM applied @ 15 t/ha only to soybean crop (kharif season). The finding of the experiment revealed that the dry matter yield of soybean at different growth stages (30, 45, 60 DAS and at maturity) increased with increasing levels of fertilizers and maximum dry matter yield was recorded in 100% NPK+FYM treatment at different growth stages of soybean. The number of leaves at different growth stages and dry weight of fallen leaves at harvest of soybean were also maximum in 100% NPK+FYM treatment. The results further, showed that the conjoint application of FYM with recommended application of fertilizers increased the primary and secondary nutrient contents at different growth stages and crop residues of soybean. Thus, the integrated application of fertilizers with organic manure is beneficial for the enhancing the dry matter yield, nutrient content and cop residues of soybean.
