ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted at Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur under prevailing agro-climatic conditions of south-west Rajasthan, during kharif to evaluate suitable row orientation and weed management practice for increasing productivity of maize +clusterbean intercropping systems. The experiment laid out in randomized block design comprising six row arrangements and three weed management practices. The results emanated from the present investigation that the adoption of intercropping system involving maize (75cm x 20cm) + clusterbean (1:2) was found most appropriate practice as it gives highest maize equivalent yield (44.76 q ha-1), land equivalent ratio (1.48), land equivalent coefficient (0.512) and monetary returns (` 24236 ha-1 with B:C ratio ` 2.53). Integrated weed management practice involving pendimethalin (pre-emergence) + hoeing (35 DAS) prove most efficient in controlling weeds under intercropping system as it realized higher yield and monetary returns.
