ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT
An experiment was carried out at Main Forage Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand during the year of 2015-2016 to 2017-18. The texture of the soil is loamy sand. The soil is very deep and fairly moisture retentive. There was total six treatment combinations, two varieties like (V1: Co-(GG-3), V2: JHGG-8-1,); three levels of inorganic fertilizer (N1:25 N kg/ha N2: 50 kg N/ha and N3: 75 kg N/ha). This experiment was designed in a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replicates. The results revealed that variety Co-(GG)-3 reported significantly the highest green fodder, crude protein and dry matter yields. Growth attributing characters like plant height and number of tillers were performed well as compared to JHGG-8-1 variety. Application of 50 kg N/ha significantly reported the highest plant height, number of tillers/plant and maximum green fodder, crude protein and dry matter yields. From the experimentation it could be concluded that treatment combination V1N2 (Co-(GG)-3 and 50 kg N/ha) reported significantly the maximum green fodder, dry matter and crude protein yields.
