ABSTRACT
The field experiment was conducted at the College Agronomy Farm, B.A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand (Gujarat) with a view to study the nitrogen management through organic and inorganic sources in popcorn (Zea mays everta) during rabi season of the year 2017-18. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design with four replications. The results revealed that growth parameters viz., plant height at 30, 60 DAS and at harvest and plant dry biomass at 30 and 60 DAS, Yield parameters viz., cob length, cob girth, number of grains/cob, grain and stover yield, seed index and harvest index were recorded higher in treatment with 75% N through Urea + 25% N through vermicompost. The plant population does not influenced by any treatment in popcorn. Treatment with RDF (120-60-00) NPK kg/ha was found superior by recording maximum net realization along with higher BCR followed by treatment with 75% N through Urea + 25% N through FYM.
Key words :
Castor cake, FYM, Griowth & yield attributes, Popcorn, Vermicompost.
