ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of nutrient management on enhancement of growth attributes and nutrient content of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas Lam.) during kharif season 2013 and 2014 at Horticulture Farm, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur (Raj.). The experiment consists of 11 treatment combinations viz., T1 control, T2 50% NPK (50:25:25) through RDF, T3 100% NPK through RDF, T4 NPK based on soil test, T5 100% N through FYM, T6 100% N through vermicompost, T7 100% N through neem cake, T8 50% N through FYM + 50% N through vermicompost, T9 50% N through FYM + 50% N through neem cake, T10 50% N through vermicompost + 50% N through neem cake and T11 50% N through RDF+ 25% N through FYM + 25% N through neem cake were tested in Randomized block design with three replications. Result shows that application of 100% NPK through RDF significantly increased the vine length, number of leaves per vine as compared to control which was statistically at par with NPK based on soil test. Further, maximum nutrient in plant and vine recorded under T6 (100% N through vermicompost) which was significantly superior over all other treatments under investigation.
