ABSTRACT
The present experiment was carried out during 2019 to 2020 in Polyhouse, Research Field, Department of Horticulture, SHUATS, Prayagraj. The experiment was conducted in Randomized Block Design (RBD), with ten treatments, replicated thrice with organic hydroponic substrate (Photosynthetic bacteria and Bio-charcoal) on lettuce. the treatments were T1 PSB + Biocharcoal (10+10 %), T2 PSB + Biocharcoal (10+20 %), T3 PSB + Biocharcoal (10+30 %), T4 PSB + Biocharcoal (10+40 %), T5 PSB + Biocharcoal (10+50 %), T6 PSB + Biocharcoal (20+10%), T7 PSB + Biocharcoal (30+10 %), T8 PSB + Biocharcoal (40+10 %), T9 PSB + Biocharcoal (50+10%) and T0 Control (Water 100 %). From the present experimental findings it is concluded that treatment T4 (PSB + Biocharcoal 10+40 %) was found best in terms of growth, yield and quality of lettuce in organic hydroponic substrates, followed by treatment T6 (PSB + Biocharcoal 20+10 %) and minimum growth, yield and quality was recorded in treatment T0 (Control) and in terms of economics maximum gross and net return also recorded in treatment T4 and minimum in treatment T0.
